History & Locations

  • 2005 - SQMi GmbH

Our organisation has its roots in the SQMi GmbH, a company founded in 2005 in Ingolstadt. In 2009, the business areas “Enterprise Architecture” and “Innovative Technologies” were established, which form the core of today’s Softplant GmbH. In the years 2011-2015 the SQMI was run under the name Softplant. Softplant represents both the growth and life of a plant; and the quality and efficiency of a factory. It also reinforces our position as an IT service provider.

  • 2015 - Restructuring and Spin-off

On 01.07.2015 the Softplant GmbH was founded as a new and independent spin-off of the SQMi GmbH including the divisions at Munich “Enterprise Architecture” and “Innovative Technologies”, headquartered in Munich. This has strengthened the independence and the company’s focus on its core competencies.

Research & Innovation

We are driven by continuous development. Innovation is a lived element of our organisation and a driving force for continuous improvement of our services and performance.

To achieve this, we are involved in transferring current, relevant research results to specific industry projects, and are ourselves involved in research projects. We regularly publish the results of our work in specialist publications and present these at conferences.
Current focus topics:

  • Semantic Web and Web 2.0 technologies
